Calling for a tow truck can be a stressful experience, and for many, it can also be frightening if you don’t know what to do. There’s no need to panic in the face of an emergency. In this blog, the Tow Jam team is ready to tell you what you need to do while you wait for one of our trucks to come to your location.
• Find a Safe Spot to Pull Over – Your vehicle may not always be able to move after an accident, but if you can park your car somewhere safe and away from traffic. Pull over to the side of the road, put on your hazard lights, and turn off your engine until help comes. If your car wasn’t in an accident and your engine is still running (i.e., you have a damaged tire), then staying in your car with the AC on is a fine option.
• Call for a Tow Truck – For drivers in North Dallas, Houston, and Fort Worth, the obvious answer for who to call is Tow Jam. For those unable to be helped by our fast, efficient team, dial AAA or your insurance to have a truck sent to you.
• Ask Your Tow Company for Identification – It’s important to know who is coming to get you when you call for a tow. Those calling Tow Jam will be able to identify us by our black and yellow trucks, but you can also ask us and any other tow company for the driver’s name and/or the truck’s license plate number to know that right operator has arrived.
